A New Challenge.

In November 2008, I created Incubator.  Incubator was ultimately created to help me deal with a major loss in my life.  After many months of mental processing, the writing process resulted a stronger sense of who I was and where I was going in my life - not to mention countless other benefits this blog has generated.

Today, I’m using that same knowledge to find a new career opportunity - one that is more in alignment with who I am and what I’m passionate about.  Given my past successes with earlier posts, I’ve decided to utilize this blog to share my experiences along this new journey and to help maintain my energy and perspective in the weeks and months to come.

But first, it’s important to have some context about my career thus far in order to understand where I am going.

My career path thus far has been fairly dynamic - essentially exploring multiple tracks in a planned and strategic manner.  My professional experience can be divided into three main areas:

  1. Systems Administration and Support
  2. Enterprise Systems Analysis
  3. Financial Systems Analysis / Project Management

As you can envision, each role has essentially built itself from the role prior.  In a natural evolution path, my next role would essentially continue this “stepladder” approach.

I have decided to take a different path by taking on an entirely different role using skills I have developed over the past several years which includes ideation, graphic design, concept development, computer graphics, illustration and industrial design.  I believe such a change will allow me to use my preferred style of operation (right brain thinking) which will allow me to add greater value over the long-term - not only in my overall quality of life, but to the projects that I invest time and energy on.

My goal is to find opportunities where my passions around ideas and people are front and center, and I am able to use both sides of my brain to solve problems that make people’s lives better.
